I’m too young, but I know a lot of people who have. My parents are due for their second shot tomorrow, we are crossing our fingers they allow my mom to have one, there are mixed messages. My parents had theirs done at Walter Reed in Maryland. I have friends in Maryland who have made appointments for their parents at a supermarket. I have friends in Michigan who have made appointments for their parents in Michigan. I have a friend who is very angry policemen were not put in the first category for vaccination, her husband is a detective in Toledo, Ohio.
My FIL received his first shot at work, he works for Publix supermarkets in the West Palm Beach, FL area.
Where I live in The Villages, Florida, I estimate about 20,000 Villagers have had their first shot. If you want to see what it is like here you can join the Facebook Group The Villages Covid19 Hub, even if you just want to read through for just a few minutes and then leave the group. Villagers on their help each other with how to sign up for appointments, what the different venues are like, and they even post when they are online at first come first serve locations to let people know how long the wait is if someone wants to drive over.
The sign-up for appointments is different in each county and then there are separate sign-ups for some of the private companies like Publix Supermarkets and another company. It is a little chaotic and frustrating, but getting better. Some of the websites have quirks and glitches and the facebook group members give each other with helpful hints.
Also, in the facebook group people post new information about covid and the vaccines. No politics allowed.
