That people will actually behave in their best interest.

Ahh hell. Don’t get me on that again. But wayyy back before I met my wife, and, as the wise guys say, life happened, I had always had a fantasy about enlisting in the French Foreign Legion. And was actually saving money towards a one way plane ticket to France, to make it a reality. Never happened but I still read anything I can get my hands on about that outfit. So my fantasy isn’t as altruistic as the ones above, but maybe in a way it is. One of the appeals for me, was the fairness of the Legion. They don’t care and never did care about race, nationality, religion, ethnicity, or the other concerns of the world. Anyone who dons Le Kepi Blanc is a Soldat de la Legion. It’s all that matters and I think the Spirit of the Legion was the attraction to me…maybe in another life. In this one, my wife kids and now grand kids are my world.

It would be nice to restore the illusion that It doesn’t all boil down to money.

That I can talk to animals. That I could teleport. That I could travel in time and meet the likes of Shakespeare, Newton, Darwin etc. Go back and stop the wholesale poisonings of communities, like in 1950–60’s Japan. My delusions of powerfulness and superhero complex looms large.

A lot of the ones already mentioned, plus: we could communicate with animals, mostly so they could tell us if they had an owwie; communication among humans would be better so there was more understanding, less discord; that plants, trees, animals, etc. would know that millions of humans care about them and it hurts us to see how they’re treated by others; and that children, the elderly, and animals know that they matter, and they’re not alone.

Corny, but those are a few of my fantasies.

My lottery fantasy is pretty detailed:

If I ever won the “Big One”, (by that I mean the result would be over $100M cash payout after taxes) here’s what ask my professional financial planner to do.

I’d divide the pot into three: one third would go to my children, to be divided equally between the four of them; one third would go to the siblings of myself and my wife, to be divide equally between the eight of them. In case one of them might be (or has) passed away, their share would go to their spouse, to be divided up among those family members as the surviving spouse sees fit; the last third would be for my wife and I.

Assuming our third would still be a significant amount, I’d buy a farm near the coast in Ireland, and a villa somewhere in the south of France. I would use these locations to produce large festivals to promote the lifestyle of a professional philanthropist.
