Which do you prefer to listen or sing along to - Traditional Christmas carols or pop Christmassy songs?

i would like to hear more traditional carols as the radio stations tend to play the same old by-gone christmas records every year

I have heard the same 6 traditional Christmas carols twice every day on my commute, so I am actually in the mood for some poppy Christmas songs. My favorites are ones that talk about the holidays without explicitly mentioning Christmas in the title, like Ingrid Michaelson’s new song “Snowfall”.

I like old and new but nothing gets my head noddin’ or my feet tappin’ more than when I hear this song for the first time every Christmas.
Every time for the past 28 years since Lennon died.

I am Christian, and I love Christmas songs, but the season is never full unless I listen to the South Park Christmas album. Completely wrong, and utterly filthy, I still love it.

I love the old-fashioned Christmas carols. They keep the Reason For The Season in mind. But if I keep listening to the same few carols for the whole month of December, I will go nuts. So I try to find some good pop type Christmas songs to mix in.

I like to listen to them both but if I were actually going to sing along I would have to choose traditional because I don’t know all the words to the new songs.

I’ve always liked traditional christmas songs remixed to sound like new songs. Carol of the Bells on electric guitar? Audio Nirvana.

traditional. all new christmas songs suck. literally almost all of them. clay aikens version of “MARY DID YOU KNOW” almost made me blow my brains out. i was on the verge. mariah carey christmas songs? a bullet to the head over that, plz.
