I love bassoon. I was so jealous of the girl in our school band who played one. I hadn’t heard of them before that. I played flute, and she was right behind me. When we packed up though, I didn’t want to trade cases with her for the walk home!

I like steel drums when they are a good distance away, but close up, or close to a microphone they sound like a whole city of babies dropping their jingle toys at the same time. Every nerve ending feels like it is rubbing sandpaper.

The ondioline, at least as it’s played here.
A warning to the morbidly curious: play at the lowest audible volume.

I guess my favorite is the electric 12-string guitar.
This is probably my favorite example.
