I am pooped. I wish I liked alcoholic beverages because I could use that now…

I don’t kill pumpkins . . . .

cookieman's avatar

Nap while listening to music.

janbb's avatar

Watch old sitcoms on TV.

smudges's avatar

me too @janbb!! I also lay down for 30 minutes and try to get my mind off of whatever might be bugging me.

HP's avatar

Be careful what you wish for. I have watched those believing as yourself and developing the habit of looking forward to that drink or cigarette. It’s the ice cream jones that’s my own downfall.

KNOWITALL's avatar

I exercise my frustrations away. It helps a lot and I’ve tried everything from booze to xanax.

bob_'s avatar

Zacapa 23 with coke.

RayaHope's avatar

@bob_ What does served “neat” mean?

JLoon's avatar

bob_!

BOB IS BACK!!

(But don’t bother him while he’s drinking rum)

RayaHope's avatar

@JLoon listening now….ohmmmm Oh s#it wait a minute….no no no
off please…nope I’m done..

Jeruba's avatar

Depends on the kind of stress, but a very brisk walk around the block (maybe even 2 or 3 times) would really help when what I wanted to do was scream at somebody.

Other times, really dire, I would put on big heavy music like “The Ride of the Valkyries” and crank the volume.

@bob_, great to see you here. What sort of sandwich shall I make you? I had a New England lobster roll right at the edge of the Atlantic today.

JLoon's avatar

@RayaHope – You seem tense… ;p

RayaHope's avatar

Oh some of you guys are corrupting me…
idk
^^ I got so mad at one jelly here I did just that, go for a walk and darn I’m glad I did. The things that were running through my head were not good at all.

kritiper's avatar

Relax with a cup of hot cocoa.

RayaHope's avatar

@JLoon I thought that was something else, gosh I DON’T need that kind of “meditation”...

Kropotkin's avatar

@JLoon Good link. My genitals have never felt more sacred.

JLoon's avatar

@RayaHope – Well you did ask…

I’m not messing with you.

It IS meditation, and it does
work.

But stick with the tea & and music for now.

JLoon's avatar

@Kropotkin – Then my work in this life is finally done.

RayaHope's avatar

^^ You guys…tea and music it is.

JLeslie's avatar

Put on very comfy pajamas. Watch TV and text with my friends.

Brian1946's avatar

@janbb & @smudges

What old sitcoms do you watch?

LadyMarissa's avatar

@RayaHope “neat” means you take your shot of liquor straight out of the bottle & down it at room temperature. Chilling it is for sissies!!! Since you don’t drink, I suggest you skip the “neat” until a later date as you will become AFU faster & more intense!!!

mazingerz88's avatar

Have a drink. Or sit and relax while looking at my collectible statues.

raum's avatar

Comfy clothes and bed.

janbb's avatar

@Brian1946 Right now i’m working my way through “Mad About You.”

Forever_Free's avatar

A variation of @JLoon meditation. I am unavailable till the next morning.

RayaHope's avatar

@LadyMarissa I hate to ask but ..“AFU faster & more intense!!!” what does that mean?
@Forever_Free I do some mediation with my yoga BUT not like JLoon’s type. That seemed a little too intense for me.

bob_'s avatar

@RayaHope “Neat” is just the liquor, no ice or anything else like soda or coke.

@JLoon Sup, yo.

@Jeruba Pastrami is my weapon of choice, but now that you mention it, a lobster roll sounds nice, thanks!

Forever_Free's avatar

@RayaHope Tantric. Don’t knock it till you experience it.

Inspired_2write's avatar

Transfer all those emotions into doing some creative project.
I am pressing flowers and acrylic painting and old sketch I did awhile ago.
Concentrate on something else and being engaged it it works for me, plus I get a lot of creative works done.
I have a long ‘to do list’ of which I can pick up at anythime.

gondwanalon's avatar

Pet cats. Or run 10 miles.

RayaHope's avatar

@Forever_Free ugh, you guys always go to sex stuff… I’m trying to ignore that!

LadyMarissa's avatar

@gondwanalon has a good answer. Pet a cat for a while will help to calm you. I’m NOT into running, so I’m not sure how well that would work for me…still, it might work for you!!!
I think someone else has recommended going for a long walk…that’s MORE my style!!!

Forever_Free's avatar

@RayaHope This has nothing to do with sex stuff

smudges's avatar

@Brian1946 Oh, I mean really old. My go-to when I just want to zone out or for something to listen to while beading or playing on the computer is The Andy Griffith Show. I’d love to watch Mad About You; will see if I can find it. I also like listening to (I rarely watch) old cartoons, like The Flintstones. There are others, but I’ve gone blank at the moment.

Do you like any oldies?

janbb's avatar

@smudges Mad About You is on Prime if you have that. They are just adorable together – such comic chemistry!

smudges's avatar

^^ Bummer – I don’t get that. But tubi is free and shows some oldies, I’ll look there. I love Helen Hunt.

RayaHope's avatar

@Forever_Free I think I found the wrong thing but with the same name. You get me thinking the bad way and I get caught up in it all…grrrr

Forever_Free's avatar

@RayaHope I have no power over the way you are thinking. Maybe the Man behind the curtain does.

RayaHope's avatar

@Forever_Free Okay I know this one NO fooling me this time. Wizard of Oz. ha!

LadyMarissa's avatar

@smudges I signed up with Boomerang & I get a bunch of the old Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry, Road Runner & Wylie Coyote. It’s like $60 for a year. I can watch ALL I want to watch in a year & be on reruns by the end of the year & then cancel the membership when I get tired of them!!!

There’s one channel that has all the really old Popeye, but I’m drawing a blank on which channel. I think that same channel had a bunch of the Classic Cartoons from like 1935 that had been colorized as well. Seems they had old Woody Woodpecker too. Just guessing, it might be Tubi & I’m pretty sure it was for FREE!!! I don’t pay for many of the channels that I watch…they gotta be really good before I start paying!!!

raum's avatar

I get online and answer a bunch of random questions with strange people who self-identify as “jellies”. :P

Nomore_Tantrums's avatar

I just take a drive in the boonies with a thermos of hot coffee close to hand.

RayaHope's avatar

@raum :)
@Nomore_Tantrums ROAD TRIP!! ;p

Had a very stressful day yesterday. Had a whole lot of pop-up crises at work, ended the day with having to fire a guy and almost another. In the old days we would have said this was a sucky day. I got home, put some ice in a glass, added some tequila, and got on a conference call with our retirement planners. They gave us really good news so the day sort of worked itself out. I followed up by going to a dark room and putting on some music to soothe and relax me further.

RayaHope's avatar

@seawulf575 That sounds like a great plan except for the alcohol (for me) not you.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

I chug some cool pop and take a long hot shower then a nap.

RayaHope's avatar

@RedDeerGuy1 That sounds great except after I’d lay down all those thoughts come flooding back in.

Nomore_Tantrums's avatar

No need for stress, one more day and you ain’t got no school no mo’. Until Tuesday anyway. In my day I“d have stepped out with a spring in my step, straight to the billiards hall across the street. I mean, straight home to study all weekend. : )

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@RayaHope The only way out is through.

I suggest speaking with your high school counselor, about your unwelcome thoughts. It should be free, and might as well get as much free counseling while it’s affordable. Mine costs $10/hour for a student psychologist and up to $200/ hour for a full psychologist.

RayaHope's avatar

@Nomore_Tantrums Oh yes the looong weekend is almost here. ”straight to the billiards hall across the street. I mean, straight home to study all weekend. : ) hummm which one do I believe?
@RedDeerGuy1 I do still see a psychologist but only once every two weeks now. She does help me with a lot of stuff.

LadyMarissa's avatar

@RayaHope I suggest that you believe the billiard hall scenario!!! LoL

jca2's avatar

When I’m stressed out or tired I really just want to be by myself, and not have to talk to anyone. I usually go online and waste time on FB or looking at news sites, or I watch some TV.

RayaHope's avatar

@LadyMarissa I think you are right :) I am so sorry to hear about your left hand. You know that made my eyes tear up, that and your memorial fingers. (HUGS)

LadyMarissa's avatar

@RayaHope Thank you. At least I have 2 GREAT memories with me ALL day long!!! :-)

smudges's avatar

@LadyMarissa I used to get Boomerang for free, then they started charging for it. But $60/year isn’t bad at all!

LadyMarissa's avatar

@smudges Nope. IF you pay by the month, it’s a LOT higher; however, IF you’re willing to pay by the year, it’s only $5/mon aka $60/yr & I get my money’s worth!!!

BTW, it’s not Tubi that has the good cartoons…it’s Peacock. They want you to pay to watch, but you can still watch plenty without paying & the cartoons fall under the FREE!!!

eyesoreu's avatar

Sex & a pancake

RayaHope's avatar

@eyesoreu I’m afraid to ask…a pancake?
